Research from the Ad Council states that there are approximately 7.5 million students that miss a month of school for any reason.  Therefore, the student that is absent falls behind academically and is at risk for not graduating.  And, success depends on classroom attendance.

It’s a fact that students who attend school every day will graduate from high school and move on to further their education.  Also, they score higher on standardized tests. In addition to test scores, they engage themselves  in classroom activities. Thus, feel self-confident.attendance

Research shows that rates of absenteeism in kindergarten and first grade can rival those in high school.  Early grade level attendance is essential for developing strong work habits.  In addition to developing work habits, it builds a positive and meaningful attitude toward school and learning.

As schools and parents work together to emphasis going to school, it coinsides with the importance our nation places on education.  In addition, it recognizes that being in school on a daily basis is necessary. The bottom line – daily attendance is the formula for success.

Keep Attendance High and Avoid Absenteeism

Parents can create good habits for children to prevent absenteeism.

•   Create evening and morning routines. Have clothing ready and establish study time.

•   Next, teach the importance of going to school. Make doctor appointments  around school hours. Keep children home if truly sick. If reluctant to go to school, find the root of the problem.

•   Celebrate school attendance with a special prize or an outing.

Attendance matters. Above all, build the habit of attending school everyday and on time. Good attendance builds strong work habits and prepares students for a successful  future.
