Public Education is Effective

Public education has many benefits for students that attend classes daily. Students that attend public school experience diversity. They interact with students from various religions and races. Public schools give every child a free education. They play an important role in preparing students for the future.

Public School Role

  • Public education has no cost. Even though there are complaints about supplies expenses and participation in various activities, they are better than private schools.
  • Public schools are available to everyone. They turn no student away and there is no waiting list.
  • By admitting everyone, students learn with others that have various backgrounds and incomes. Also, students with physical and mental disabilities share in learning experiences.
  • Class size is usually smaller in the lower grades.
  • Certified and experienced teachers teach all students.
  • There are options for various classes, such as gifted and talented, physically and mentally disabled, and students who have English as a second language. They teach high and low achievers.

Education that is available to all students is to provide every student with a basic academic education. It provides a common political and social philosophy regardless of social class. It ensures that all students have the right skill set to fit into society.

Public education also affects democratic attitudes. It makes students more supportive of democracy and encourages initiatives through finance, disagreements, protests, and votes.

Non-Public Choices

Non-public schools offer many choices for a student’s education. Parents believe that non-public schools offer a safer environment. Many people have several reasons for choosing non-public.

  • Smaller class sizes make communication easier for all teachers and parents. However, some have an entry exam or have a waiting list for entrance.
  • Technology is more available. Computers may be readily available because of fewer students.
  • Safer classrooms because classes are small. However, both public and non-public schools have a sharper focus on safety with the recent school shootings.

Most parents choose non-public schools because they are faith-based.

Types of Students

The type of school that’s chosen for a student impacts their academic success in life. Most students are resilient and learn in any kind of educational environment. However, some students need academic structure.

  • Visit the student’s school of choice.
  • Look at the curriculum.
  • Consider the school’s approach to teaching.

No matter the needs of students, most students enjoy the atmosphere of public neighborhood schools. Neighborhood schools support a student’s community. They meet the needs of students. They are convenient for students and parents. Public and public charter neighborhood schools are a benefit to all.
