You've Got to be Kidding Me:
The Educators’ Secret Handbook
In my 39 years of educational experiences in grades K – 12 I have decided that there are some helpful experiences that will prepare today’s educators to improve and guide schools into the future. Through these experiences, it is not intended to berate the profession or the teacher’s union but to only provide some experiences that I feel were unusual and/or amusing. It is also written to add some levity to situations that, at the time, were not funny.
The purpose in writing this book entitled: You’ve Got to be Kidding Me: The Educators’ Secret Handbook is to provide snippets of real life experiences as an administrator.Through these snippets it is hoped that the reader will self reflect on the variety of situations that may occur in the educational setting. Its design includes a reflection of each scenario from the author with posing questions for the reader. This is a guide for any educator that is contemplating becoming or already has become an administrator.
All situations are not hypothetical and have been taken from real life experiences. Most of them were experiences of the author and only a few were written from group discussions of experiences with other educators. Each is identified in the book.
