•   Pay attention to an academic interest. Comment on the positive.

•   Also, a comment on a sticky note goes a long way for a person’s self-esteem.  And, parents can include a helpful note in a student’s lunch, on a pillow or on the bathroom mirror.

•   As an educator, greet each student everyday by their name.

•   Give them a responsible task to acomplish.

Many times invisible students prefer to stay unnoticed. However, it is essential that educators and parents make them feel significant. They need acknowledged and included. It is consequential to understand the root of the problem without altering who they are. Empower them to develop soft skills for positive interactions with others.

We must help vulnerable students become visible. Because, it places them on a level playing field both educationally, socially and emotionally.  Success in school and life comes from educators and parents that care.  Regardless of how quiet and or reticent a child may be, they must not become invisible.
